This is Madison and Quincy D! They are in my POD4 group. Here they are playing their recorders to original music that they wrote! In POD4 we discuss the logistics of composers writing music. We discuss musical vocabulary, and develop our own pieces based on the notes that we already know! Kayt gave them the opportunity to write 4–8 musical bars and then play them back on recorder! Great job Madison and Quincy!!

Hello! My name is Kaytlynn Capasso. I am a music teacher at Georgetown East Elementary school. I am also a professional saxophone player/jazz musician. I have been teaching in the public school system for two years now and I taught privately for three years prior. I fell in love with music at a very young age. I loved how intricate, yet so simple and pure it was. I love the way it can make you feel all types of emotion. It frees up your mind while also allowing you to be creative and unique. It is seriously the universal language. This is what I hope to inspire young minds to do. Listen, create and explore. Ask the questions of “Why?” and “How?” Joseph Chilton Pearce said “To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong.” There are never any wrong notes; only the right notes, and notes that make our brains grow.
